Intimate Interactions: Fabric RFID Systems
RFID and NFC systems are pervasive -- they exist in passports, credit cards, on keychains, etc. Refocusing the mysticism behind this pervasive hardware, my research explores how these technologies can create subversive and playful methods for two-way communication through electronic-textiles and body gestures. The magic interaction of RFID transponders and readers is that one powers the other through a simple hover of their antennas, an intimate interaction.
